FORMER NORTH CAROLINA UERS CONSULTANT ALLY BARFIELD
JOINS K12 ENTERPRISE

BALTIMORE, MD (11/27/12) – Ally Barfield, former UERS (Uniform Education Reporting Specifications) Computing Consultant with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, has joined K12 Enterprise – Microsoft's leading enterprise-grade financial and human resource management software for K-12 school systems.

Since 1990, Barfield has been responsible for ensuring that the various payroll and accounting software packages used by North Carolina’s 115 school systems and 108 charter schools meet the North Carolina UERS. She has benchmarked all new payroll and accounting software packages for compliance with UERS standards and has assisted school systems and charter schools in proper monthly reporting to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

“With her incredible skill set and deep understanding of the technology needs of North Carolina’s school districts, Ally has been a heavily sought after resource by numerous companies in the K-12 space,” says K12 Enterprise Executive Vice President Jeremy Fass. “Her addition brings tremendous credibility to K12 Enterprise and to our work in the region. We are thrilled that she chose to join the K12 Enterprise team.”

“K12 Enterprise was very attractive to me,” Barfield explains. “I’ve worked with the company in the past and know its philosophy is built completely around customer service and an emphasis on quality and attention to detail. I am very excited to be on board.”

Joining K12 Enterprise brings Barfield full circle. Prior to joining the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, she worked for Burroughs Corporation (which became UNISYS in the mid-1980s) as primary programmer and application support person for the 65 North Carolina school systems that were using Burroughs payroll and accounting software. She worked closely with North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to ensure that Burroughs software met state requirements, as well as school system needs.

A magna cum laude graduate of Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia, Barfield will work out of K12 Enterprise’s Richmond office, focusing initially on the installation of the company’s new budgeting software system in North Carolina schools.
